A dataset providing the locations of cooling towers. This is a combined list managed and enforced by Leeds City Council and the Health & Safety Executive.

Cooling towers are part of a system for providing air conditioning or refrigeration on a large scale. There is a heat exchanger in the tower to remove heat which aids cooling. They are usually placed on the top of buildings. The problem with cooling towers is that they produce warm water vapour, and unless they are managed properly there is a risk of Legionella being distributed in the air.
