The Art of Tinkering

‘Getting in to tech’ might initially sound daunting and a bit constrained to the stereotype of sitting in front of a computer all day. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Learning to code whilst having fun and creating interesting things is within anyone’s reach.

Join us for The Art of Tinkering! A casual, drop-in-drop-out session to get an idea of the tech available out there and just how quickly you could put together a project. Aimed at creative and curious adults – specifically women but welcome to anyone who is supportive of getting more women in to tech/digital – who have an interest in exploring digital and tech creativity.

Designed to be an informal introduction to kit like micro:bits, Codebugs, Raspberry Pi’s, and wearable tech, you can come and ask questions, find out about tutorials and meetups, and so forth. Drop in for 10 minutes or stay for the whole session, the day is super flexible.

A friendly team from Leeds Library and Information Service will be available to talk about the new micro:bit lending scheme plus the creative potential of the library collections. There will also be examples of resources that can help you on your creative journey that are available to loan from Leeds Libraries.
