Alois has a keen interest in open data as he believes it can play an important role in creating real social change. He joins from the council’s Business Improvement team where he continues to work as a Project Officer involved in business analysis and change management. Having started with Leeds City Council on its Graduate Development Programme in September 2015, Alois has acquired experience in data analysis and information management. Currently, he juggles between Open Data management, Smart Cities projects and many Kanban User Stories.
Michael is new to the public sector and Open Data worlds, having joined Leeds City Council’s Graduate Development Programme in September 2016. Prior to this, he studied International Relations at the University of Leeds; including spending a year studying in Germany. He will be co-ordinating Smart Cities and Open Data projects for his first 8-month placement at the Council.
Forsyth has worked for the council for over 20 years. The past three have been in Information Governance doing information compliance work. Before that he worked as a Change Manager for Legal Services. Forsyth will be involved in the effort to change the culture within the organisation to a position of information being open by default.

Rich runs the software development consultancy Fish Percolator, Fish Percolator develops its own software as well as taking commissions to turn people’s software ideas into reality. Before Fish Percolator, Rich worked in the big corporate world, including managing the Leeds development centre for Trend Micro.
Liam Bolton is a Data Scientist and Founder of Student Data Labs. Working at the intersection of data analytics, design and storytelling, he has collaborated with a variety of organisations from non-profits to news agencies and research labs. Through Student Data Labs, Liam runs data-driven Innovation Labs that aim to tackle civic issues whilst teaching practical data skills to university students.
Stuart has PhD in radio astronomy. Previously he has worked on the European Space Agency’s Planck spacecraft, has built web-interfaces for a global network of optical telescopes, and has published a book of astronomical infographics created from open data sets. At ODI Leeds, Stuart works on a range of projects using open data.
Tom has a PhD in computational biology and now runs software and data consultancy imactivate. He is an associate at ODILeeds where he’ll be happy to help you solve problems you have using data. He’s particularly interested in data on housing, transport, and income inequality both within Leeds and across the UK and Europe.
Sandip joined the team in September 2014, bringing his knowledge and experience of working with external partners to the team. Sandip’s role has evolved from promoting open data with external partners to representing Leeds Data Mill across the city as well and communicating the work done by Leeds City Council and its partners via Twitter, Facebook and the quarterly newsletter, Data Speak.
